As someone who was educated in the public school system
and not in a Catholic school, I want to stress both the need
and the importance of the contrived existence of Catholic
schools and the Catholic school system in our parish, our
diocese and throughout the Catholic Church in the world.
The family, society and moral values in our society are
all under attack. Holy Mother Church and our Catholic schools
are the beacons of the light of Christ where the Catholic
faith, the arts, sciences and technology are taught and used
by our children. They are taught to be educated and practicing
Catholics of Holy Mother Church as well as educated and involved
citizens of our great nation, The United States of America.
All of us need to return to teaching the basics not only
in education, but of our beloved Catholic Faith. We are all
called to transmit the Catholic Faith to our children in
our respective vocations as parents, pastors, Sisters, teachers
and staff of St. Mary’s School and of every Catholic
school, to the children that God has given to us.
Catholic education is neither about celebrating diversity
nor ourselves, rather it is about celebrating Our Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ! In celebrating Jesus, we are to uphold
and put into practice our Catholic values and Catholic morality
as we strive to come closer to the School of Nazareth, composed
of Our Lord Jesus Christ, The Blessed Virgin Mary and St.Joseph,
in order for us to become Saints of God.
Catholic education is always about putting all that we have
learned about Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, His Church
and all of the areas and subjects we are learning and put
them into practice in living out The Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In living the Gospel of Jesus we are to fulfill the Ten Commandments
in our lives by loving God above all things and loving our
neighbors and ourselves. These are the constant activities
we should be undertaking as members of a “Catholic
Schools Family” every week and every day. For every
day is a Catholic School Day!
St. Mary’s School is not just a private school, but
rather it is a Catholic school and we need to increase the
enrollment to ensure St. Mary’s School ‘s contrived
viability and existence for tomorrow, next year and the many,
many years ahead and , yes, even the millennium ahead, God
willing! We invoke the most powerful intercession of the
Patroness of both our Parish and school, the Blessed Virgin
Mary, to intercede for us before His Divine Son, Jesus, as
we pray Hail Mary….!

St. Mary’s Church and School
